As many of you know, July brought the travels back down to Earth a little with an extended stay back in Texas. My grandmother took ill and we all returned to be with family during that time and her passing. She was, however, a great part of the inspiration for these travels so in honor of her, we are back out on the road.
In fact, we have found ourselves, in Northern California to celebrate my beautiful cousin’s wedding to her love. As this was Big Momma’s family, it was especially nice to join family on a happy occasion. The wedding was set in wooded park in Mill Valley so we were surrounded by Redwoods. It was so good to be reminded of how big the world can be. Hubby and I lived in the Bay Area for years and I actually taught drama across the street from the park. It had a very full circle feeling to it. I love Northern California and am so happy to be sharing it with my children.
Here’s Little Diva playing in a fairy house. Seeing the picture, one of my friends asked if we were in Middle Earth. It does not seem that far off.
I am so happy to be back out on the road. I will be better about journaling all the beauty we are seeing. Stay tuned for installments of “Catching Up the Travel Journal” as I recount cool places that I missed sharing at the time. And if you want in-the-moment reporting (see how i made myself sound so official there?), follow my Instagram @StarPics or my Periscope @TracisStar. I’m really good about sharing our excitement there.
