One of our favorite things to do as we travel from city to city is visit the local children’s museums. The kids enjoy them and they provide great home-schooling opportunities. In Lake Charles, Louisiana, they have a wonderful one offering three floors of fun and learning.
Playing at the Children’s Museum
There is a Shadow Room where the kids could see how a flash of light projects their shapes onto the wall. (Forgive the terrible photos — it was hard to capture this unique experience!)
And Sonny-Bunny can’t resist any kind of building, including dinosaurs.
They got to imagine exploring the Louisiana bayous…
And swing from the rafters.
Finally, they saved the day!
We love these museums and if you’re ever in Lake Charles, I highly recommend a visit.

I love following along with you and your family! Any recommendations for travel journals for kids? We are planning a summer road trip and I want to have something for my 7 year old son.

We just bought one of the black bound journals and were trying to have them write at the end of the day. We ‘re a little behind and need to catch up (just like momma and this blog — haha!)
Hubby came up with an idea of having them do news reports of the day and recording them.
