Last week, I shared some of our visit to the Children’s Museum in Galveston. I focused on the terrific imagination play offerings. Today, I’d like to share the science and engineering fun.
After a rough year, Sonny-Bunny has been convinced that science is not fun. This museum did a lot to dispel that thought. In what I would call a “physics” area, he adjusted rubber track to see how that affected the trajectory of a ball.
Watch it go!
And saw the effect of air on a balloon. He kept trying to “dunk” the balloons only to have them come right back up.
Behind that room was a workshop. Sonny-Bunny and his dad spent quite a time hammering away. (Especially Sonny-Bunny! I could hear his banging throughout the museum. I resisted the urge to make him stop. The staff seemed to not mind!) This is what Mr. Hero came up with. I’d say he had as much fun as the rest of us!
That wraps up our fun at the Children’s Museum of Galveston. We’re sharing with Unknown Mami and Sundays in My City.

If your travels take you to Philadelphia you need to check out the Please Touch Museum and the Franklin Institute!
