We are back in Austin for a few days (the retirement saga drags on). Little Diva had an opportunity to join her Brownie troop to visit the Blanton Museum of Art and we jumped. We have been in a challenging place as of late. The kids made their sacrifice. They gave up their rooms and a lot of toys. All in the name of a great adventure. An adventure that has been slow to begin.
The greatest sacrifice they have made, however, has been with their pals. They have been blessed with a really strong group of friends. Friends who have been missed.
It was the hardest thing to ask of them and frankly, Mr. Hero and I have felt pretty bad about all the delays. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done with the slow hands of paperwork, I can only try to make the most of our slightly anchored time.
Yesterday was one of those days. Art and friends — it doesn’t get much better.
Have you ever had to ask your kids to wait on a promise? How did you handle it?
