Fredericksburg has so much good going on that we couldn’t do everything. We definitely will be going back! Picking up from yesterday’s post, after lunch, we continued exploring Main Street. The number of unique stores is huge and offered fun for all ages — even the cranky 11 year old enjoyed it. (Small warning, though — in a world where we can swipe for our $3 coffee, there are stores where cash is still king. And with very few national banks in the city, getting cash can carry a pretty heavy cost. So #learnedthehardway, in the future, we will always have cash on hand!)
Before the sun got too low, we took the kids to Marktplatz. In the heart of Fredericksburg, it offers places for play and learning.
You can peek at Little Diva spinning on the tire swing here!

Beside the playground is a beautiful park inspired by the peace treaty signed between the Native Americans and the German Settlers. It is believed to be the only treaty with the Native Americans in American history not violated.
The friendship park is behind the Vereins Kirche, a former town hall, schoolhouse, and church. It still stands as a reflection of the rich history of Fredericksburg,
Finally, after a lot of playing and exploration, we were hungry. Very hungry. We found West End Pizza. What a fun place! The service was terrific and the atmosphere relaxed. We enjoyed the pizza but the must have are the garlic rolls!
That finished off a very busy day. Day Two still to come.
