After our very rough homeschool day yesterday, I decided to lighten it up last night. So, we had…
Game Night
I introduced my kids to Yahtzee — one of my all time favorites. It was a gift from a friend and I couldn’t wait to shake the dice with them.
Sonny-Bunny took to it fabulously.
And with the struggles of homeschooling, it was a good reminder that learning comes in many forms. He rocked all the multiplication without any complaint!
Little Diva tried her best and did the addition.
She was not as sold as big brother but she agreed to try again another day. She then requested a game of Life to follow.
They were both all in with this one.
And yet again, I found learning opportunities hiding in the fun. Little Diva had to read the cards and count her spaces.
Mostly, though, we just had fun. While that clearly is the goal of the next year, it is easy to get lost in the “work”. A friend advised that I press the reset button and she was right. Family Game Night was the perfect reset for Mommy and kids alike.
Do you have Game Night? What are your favorites?
